A little about me...
As a native Virginian, in my spare time, I enjoy driving the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the overlooks and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains. I also like to go camping with my friends and family on the Rappahannock River. Our favorite campground, one I have frequented since I was a child, is an extremely secluded area on the edge of the Shenandoah National Forest. It can only be reached by a 30 minute drive up a precarious switchback road, tucked into the edge of the mountainside. I am an avid lover of all flora and fauna. During the spring and summer, I love to garden. I like to grow tomatoes, peppers, and herbs including three varieties of basil the previous year! Fresh pesto, anyone? At home, my boyfriend Zach and I love to cook. He is the BBQ and grill master, while I am the vegetarian and baker of all kinds of desserts. I love decorating cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for various holidays or parties. I also love experimenting with new recipes, even if it means going back to the store three times to get that caramel just right for a dulce-de-leche mille crepe cake. Oh, trust me, that happened! I am also a proud aunt of two wonderful children who I love to spoil. Quinn is 4 years old and Norah is 8 months. Along with our human family, we have a pet family as well. Chunk, River, and Nova are some of the friendliest cats I've ever met. They are, of course, a product of all the love and affection they receive at home!
I have a background in the classical arts such as oil painting, drawing with pastels, charcoal, pencil, markers, and ink pen line work. Landscapes and portraiture are some of my favorite subjects. My life experience made completing a minor in art alongside my interior design major a breeze. This includes various history classes focused on art, interiors, and graphic design. I have had the pleasure of being able to experiment with different mediums such as photography, ceramics, and metalwork at Radford University. After a few years of design school, hand rendering is now one of my favorite art techniques. I like to do quick loose sketches to get an idea down, followed by clean and detailed renderings of the final design.
